A question about this goal: My writing style is "choppy" and "wooden." I can't seem to write well. I have so many ideas but I just can't get them out of my head and onto the page in a way that is readable. How can I improve my writing style? November 30th, 2006 08:38

Above all, realize that your “voice” is something you get after you write and write and write and write and write and write and write and write some more.
The best cure for this is more writing – even if you think it sucks, it will get better.
Put your writing away and come back and read it later. Notice what you don’t like about it, what you do like about it, and don’t try to pick it apart bit by bit. Just get the big picture. And move on.
