Paint your nails, with clear or coloured polish, whichever you prefer, and carry a file (but not a metal one!) at all times to smooth off any tempting picky bits!

Also there’s this genius stuff i found called nu-nale cream – rub it into your cuticles and nails a couple of times a day, really helps to strengthen them. The aim of the game as far as getting them stronger is stopping water getting in – so apply the cream and protective polish, wear gloves when washing up, and keep them filed smooth (file them towards the middle).

The first week or two is the hardest, as once they have grown a bit you’ll be so impressed with how much nicer they look, you won’t want to bite them any more! Especially if they are painted, say, bright red ;) Good luck!
