Look, your are a very attractive young woman, no guy could resist that. So, trust your gut and just go up to him, when your alone, and ask him what he thinks about you as a young attractive woman.
He will either say, he thinks your very pretty or he doesn’t think of you in that way, and just values your friendship.
If he says the first thing, then ask him why he has never asked you out on a date before?
Maybe he will stammer and say, “ah, well, because i was afraid of being rejected.” So you then say, “well, why not ask right now and see what I say?”

I was not the one to call you “just pretty,” I was saying what a typical guy might say or what this guy might say to you alone.
To me you are a very beautiful young lady, that’s why I can’t understand why your having so much trouble in just going up to him and asking him how he really feels about you.
If I was your age and some beautiful young lady, like yourself came up to me and asked me what they think of them as a attractive woman, I would probably not believe what they just asked me and be speechless the whole day. Maybe it’s different now a days. Again, good luck and trust your gut feelings on this one.
