Answers:

Anywhere in the Lappland, ie. Northern Scandinavia, there are very good chances for seeing the Aurora Borealis. The people in Finland, Norway and Sweden all speak English well enough, should be no problems without speaking the native languages.

Finland and Norway are better countries to go to, as the Northmost Sweden is almost devoid of any people, towns and roads.. Unlike in Finland, in Norway one should aim to be high in the mountains or they will be in your way. :) Usually the Norhern Lights spread through the sky, it’s most wonderful if you can see it as whole, nothing blocking your sight.

I’ve lived in the Finnish Lappland and seen the Lights numerous times, but they always look just as breathtaking.. You might like to try seaside: it’s awesome to lean to the hard wind without falling backwards, hearing the booming of the waves, looking up into the sky full of those colours….

wow thanks for the detailed reply!!! =)
I hope to be able to make a trip there next winter, I will certainly keep your words in mind. How often were you able to see it?

I’m from northern norway, and if you look for it, I guess you could see it a couple of times a month.

if there is a clear sky ;)
