Being from Ontario there isn’t a lot of ocean near me. The closest I’ve been is Florida, twice. But both times we stayed strictly within Disney boundaries. I didn’t even realize how close I was. Someday.

Having grown up on the east coast of the U.S. never more than a couple hours drive from the ocean, it’s hard for me to imagine not having seen it. When I was growing up, we spent 90% of our family vacations at the beach. It is still one of my favorite places to go when I want to destress.
It’s very awesome (in the non-slang sense of the word—“awe-inspiring”). So sad that you were right there in FL, and didn’t make it. I’m rooting for you to see it soon!

Thanks for the comment! I am hoping to go to Argentina in the fall. I won’t be on the coast but i think i’ll be closer than I am around here. Maybe I will be able to cross both the Atlantic and Pacific off the list!
I always thought that lake superior was something like the ocean but I think i’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I’ve been to the great lakes, and there are some similarities. For instance, the feeling of vastness. But there is something different in the waves, and also of course the saltiness of the air, and fresh saltwater fish. If you like fish, it’s worth eating when it’s fresh caught that day. It does taste better. Best of luck!

hey, thats quite the offer! I couldn’t imagine being down there, it must be so beautiful. Although I live in northern (ish) canada and we haven’t had any snow for christmas! Its horrendous. You must always have people staying on your couch!
