If you’re not developing an actual Rails app, you can just use Rails locally on your machine. All Rails apps come with a built-in webserver. (script/server)

my rails app is ready now… but my teacher want to see my app hosted at a real “hosting” not locally, this is the terms.

I’d recommend Dreamhost.com then. It’s not free, but they run a special promo code that lets you get a full year’s of service for about $10 instead of $120. Pretty awesome deal.

I’m not sure you’ll find many “free” Rails hosting services.

You need to start webbrick with the -e flag

-e,—environment=name Specifies the environment to run this server under (test/development/production).
Default: development
