Learn to play the drums (read all 3 entries…)
The Beat goes on...... 2 years ago

I have always lived my life to the beat of my own drum, as wacky of a beat as it may be at times, but technically, I have never really learned to play them…though I have always longed to. I think when I was younger, the thought of living with a drum soloist in the basement put fear in my parents, and prompted them to insulate the walls and ceiling well, and encourage me to play something more quiet and soothing , like the flute, or harp…..neither of which will ever be for me…..but it’s not too late right? I am not looking to go on tour or anything… just looking for an outlet to let loose on once in awhile… though going on tour could be fun…....

Some people are so ingenious!

I mean just look at that dress! Magically turning a pigs ear into a silk purse, and straw into gold. Seems to me your a bit like that yourself dear BeeQueen! Ingenious, with a down to earth hands on approach , intertwined with a sense of humour, and a will to play the drums! What a great combination to find in a friend! Always a pleasure to read your posts, ( though admittedly your talents , can at times make me feel rather lacking in this area, and want to hunt down a bee hive of my own just so I can surround myself with such beautiful smells, and hand crafted objects…but alas I am highly allergic to these beasts, and “Bee Hive Queen” I shall never be).

Go out and find that drum girl! And make it your own!

Well perhaps your Butt was just too cute to pass up a pinch! :)

(or should I say Bite/Sting?) Bumble Bees are usually not too bothersome, it’s the wasps whom can be rather vengeful. And since I have a tendency to react to all insect bites of any kind, I do my best to not tramp on their nests where and if possible.

Thank you for your words of kindness Miss Queen Bee, you are an inspiration, and this was a lovely gift of just that to open the other morning. Kindness and inspiration.

(Not to mention the laughter you gave me with your stinging stories!)
:)
Cheers BQ.

Well I don't know if ALL people do,

I certainly do! Wasps are the worst for me, which is really rather ironic considering I was just standing under my porch sipping my coffee, and loudly yelling for my dogs, and banging on the railing for greater emphasise, only to look up and realize I am directly under a large wasp nest, that is only getting larger by the minute. They cared not for my yelling and banging, and I was soon chased away by their dive bombing. They don’t scare me( though you can not say they same for my Mom and sister! Which is odd considering I am the one allergic to them, not them!!). but I do have to try and remember to bring my EpiPen, and several spares, just in case. Especially if I am out in the boonies camping , or miles off shore fishing. But otherwise they are all pretty good. The frogs , bats, and salamanders help keep the mosquitoes down, and my nutty dogs are forever chasing wasps around the yard at a feverish pace, and keep me rather entertained. :)
