I have been trying a new technique for staying awake when my alarm clock goes off.

I switch off the alarm and then sit up straight in bed. As long as you don’t put your head down you won’t fall asleep again.

I then do some exercises just after getting out of bed which makes me feel a lot less tired very quickly.

It takes a bit of will power but the technique definitely works.

actually this is a good idea.. often when i wake up i want to stay to bed a bit longer, and i end up sleeping again:S

i do something a bit different though when i sleep in the afternoon: i sleep on the floor, that way i get a brief rest and im uncomfortable enough to get up again.. otherwise i will be sleeping for like 4-5 hours
