TajLV a day off, rest is good

ace my next job interview (read all 17 entries…)
The Monster Beckons

I’ve had a resume posted on Monster.com for about four months. Yesterday I got a call from a company that competes directly in this market with my former employer. They are looking to fill a sales position.

I played it coy, saying I’m not actively seeking employment right now, but that I am “keeping my options open.” We arranged to meet on Friday morning and discuss the job they have available.

I’m ambivalent about this interview, but I must admit that it’s nice to have them reaching out to me. My background is probably a good fit for the spot they want to fill. Do I want to get back on that particular treadmill right now? We’ll talk, and we’ll see.

Garahrasshoppah, may the force be with you

I hope it goes well for you. I just came out a similar situation. It was not a good move for me because the politics at the new rival company were far more intense than my old company.

DON’T BE SHY TO ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS so that you are well aware of what you are getting into. Also, google the company and see what you can find and see if they are on www.jobvent.com.

Best wishes

Thanx for the tip

I looked on JobVent. No listing. But you are right about asking questions. Corporate culture is critical to job satisfaction. I appreciate your taking time to write. May the force be with you, too.
