get a passport (read all 6 entries…)
I want the freedom to travel at a moment's notice 18 months ago

I keep seeing all kinds of last minute travel deals that could be fun to do… but I haven’t had a passport in 25 years.

I need to find out what it takes to get a current password, so I can be in a position to get up and go if I want…

Easy Step By Step.

You could get it done in an afternoon if you want.

1. Go here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/forms_847.html and fill out the online form, then print it out.

2. Go to your nearest Walmart with a photo lab, and tell them you want a passport photo. It’ll cost between $10 and $15. You’ll walk out with two.

3. Take what you got from steps one and two, plus your drivers license and an official copy of your birth certificate to the nearest passport acceptance facility. You can find it here. http://iafdb.travel.state.gov/ Usually, it will be a post office, and quite close to you.

4. Tell the clerk you need a passport. He’ll walk you through the rest, which shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes and about $100.

I did it all, and I mean from step 1 to walking out of the post office with my tracking number, in 2 hours. I challenge you to do it by the end of the day Friday.
