Internet vs. IRL 18 months ago

Ever been ‘recognized’ online by someone you actually knew IRL?

I challenged this friend this morning to find me here on 43T. I gave her until the end of the month, thinking there was no way she’d spot me… 3 minutes later, I get an email from her saying “Hey Mama Bear! Wanna go roller blading?” (Roller blading is on one of my goals). I honestly couldn’t quite believe she had found me so fast… Just guessing what some of my goals might be, and somehow getting a feeling it was me when she saw my avatar… I’m still in shock ;)

that’s kind of fun, isn’t it? I mean, if it’s random and they’re not purposefully looking for you, then it’s quite cool :)

Yes, but it also shows the power of the internet and if you don’t want to be tracked as easily, be more discretionary. For example, use different IDs for each site that are very different, etc.
