Lead a parade

Our neighborhood has a tradition of a 4th of July parade. We invite the kids to decorate their bikes, trikes, scooters, wagons, dogs, etc and parade down to our clubhouse. We wave at the neighbors, wave our flags and have a jolly good time. Our Grand Marshall couldn’t make it this year, so I got to stand in. They even gave me a decorated baton to lead with. Yay!

I had marched in plenty

of parades as I grew up, but I never even entertained the idea of leading one.

Ha – I did give the baton back. My friend decorated her baton from her high school majorette days. ;)
