Our brilliant roommate was the one who actually executed the cake design, but I’d be happy to help, if anyone want to try it themselves! Use wedding-cake forms (styrofoam cylinders you get at wedding stores) for structure, and then about 11 dozen… give or take!

visuals?
you wouldn’t happen to have a picture of your donut cake, would you? haha
of course!
There’s one at the original entry ... I’ve got lots more, though, if you want.
You gonna make one? :)
Your donut cake picture looked awesome! I’m getting married in June with a Western and beach theme. Kind of cooky and silly. I would love to see more pictures of your donut cakes. Please e-mail me at tbyrdthebooklady@yahoo.com and in the subject put donut wedding cakes so I don’t delete it thinking it is trash.
Thanks a lot,
Terrie
Aw, thanks. It was cheaper (<$100), and more personal, and (IMHO) it tasted better than most wedding cakes I’ve had. All the pictures are about the same. You really want to see them, go here:

The smaller cake is from our daughter’s first birthday.
Our former roommate did the actual construction; you could get in touch with her if you want. Her blog is at http://roux.vox.com
Congratulations!
