lose weight (read all 126 entries…)
just thought this was interesting... 16 months ago

i read an article today that said to know how many calories you need to maintain your weight:
just take your weight and multiply it by 10, then add your weight to that number.

118×10= 1180+118= 1298..so 1300 calories a day basically if i don’t exercise to maintain this weight…

less than i thought!! lol but i’m glad i know now cuz i was just generalizing and thinking 1500….but it makes sense that it would vary for different body weights.

Is that the number before doing anything? (Such as just day to day stuff)
Cause if it includes that stuff, it sounds pretty low…

yeah, it’s that number w/o doing anything…if you do exercise you can add more calories to that number for amount you burn off..
