Get rid of my hives (read all 2 entries…)
Am I going to have to avoid Hawaii for the rest of my life???

Came back from vacation on the Big Island, and 36 hours later broke out in hives. Weird thing is that it happened 7 years ago—the last time I went to the Big Island. Same MO. Day or so back from vacation and I’m all itchy.

But it’s been a MONTH!

Last time, a couple a days and over the counter Benedryl and I was good. I’m taking four different medications this time (and I don’t like taking ANY medicine!) I missed a dose on Wednesday morning, and by that evening I was covered again in red spots.

I’m on the “step-down” phase of the steroid for the second time. When I got under 15mg last time I broke out, so I went back up to 20mg for a couple of days. Just took the first of a few days of 10mg, and I’m crossing my fingers.

Anybody else out there have stories? Any alternate treatment?

Alternate Treatments?

Yeah, go to Cabo instead. The tequila and spicy fish tacos will kill anything that could possibly make you break out in hives…plus the beaches are just as nice and with less crowds.

Now repeat after me…
No-No, I can’t-a-go to the big Five-OH.

Hal's been drooling over detective Steve McGarrett's hair

It is quite thick and bouffont-ish, isn’t it?

If only my dad lived in Mexico...

The free accommodations are worth the Quasimodo effect the island has on me.

I once had hair like that.

Once…as in A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away.

Now I drool over that Kojak look (with the lollipop hanging out of the mouth, of course).

Before there was CSI and their perfectly groomed hairstyles, there was Five-0

The original crime scene investigators. Maybe they can find the answers to Nichole’s hives and Hal’s missing hair. If not try vacationing elsewhere, like Las Vegas. Though the warm climate could trigger the hives. One silly question, stress can trigger hives, you a good flyer? Or does the thought of flying over the ocean for several hours cause slight unrest?

Could have been the stress...

but I’ve flown many times in between the two trips to Hawaii—once in a small plane (the same one in the photo)! If the Cessna didn’t cause a reaction, there’s no reason to believe that it was caused by the 737!
