to know that not everyone in Portugal speaks Portugese. Sounds crazy yes, but there is a high influx of African immigrants.
See the beach! It was worth the treck across Europe for me. Peace and quiet. Mmmm.

They Speak Portuguese!
The imigrants from Africa, come from old Portuguese colonies so they speak Portguese. In fact even the imigrants from ucrania, bulgaria, moldavia that come to portugal in no time are do speak portguese, a great effort from them i belive!
Not everyone does!
I said “Not everyone.” Because they don’t. Perhaps you’ve had more experience, or better experiences, but it doesn’t invalidate my own experiences with African-origin hospitality.
It’s those “all or nothing” type logic phrases that are deceiving. Just something for others to be aware of.
