i don’t have my camera anywhere near me right now and i’m pretty stuck in bed for now. BUT, he’s here and he’s gorgeous, i assure you!

labor got pretty serious once i hit 5 cm, but it took ALL DAY. the contractions were debilitating. but i’m glad i had a homebirth. it allowed me to go through this on my own time and enjoy my house. my midwife was phenomenal. she even washed our dishes on our down time. lol! awesome! but i didn’t feel like i needed to push till around midnight, and even still, my water didn’t break yet. it didn’t break till i was pushing and it gushed all over my midwife and husband. nice shot, i say. hahahaha! but by midnight i was so horribly tired, that in contractions, i could only get in a couple pushes before sort dozing off. and then i’d wake up, like, OMG, I AM HAVING A BABY NOW! PUSH AGAIN!!! hahahaha… yeah, i was so out of it, there were times i forgot i was doing anything for any sort of important reason. so two hours of pushing passes and VOILA! he;s here! he’s lovely! he’s healthy! he’s beautiful!!! and i feel great aside from that feeling of getting kicked in the crotch by a horse… :D no hemorrhaging, no tears, lovely to see my belly like a third of the size it was. i have my rib cage back!!!

best part of the delivery was getting him in my arms immediately after pushing him out. he’s hot and slimy and smells like baby juice. and while baby juice, hypothetically, seems nasty… its a smell that i at least am so in love with. and to be covered in him and that smell and we’re both warm and slimy… it was such a real moment. such an amazing moment. raw, beautiful…. wow. absolutely incredible. and daddy is an excited mess, as well. the two of them bonded immediately and not even i can mollify him the way his daddy can. its so amazing. i love seeing my men together.
