I’ve been going to DePaul for three years and am very active on campus (tour guide for three years, Student Leadership Institute, Spectrum, OMSA (Multicultural Org), Facilities Assistant…). I work in the admissions office as well so if you need any answers, just let me know. ;) Good luck!

Hello! Man, you’re getting on the right track. I would focus on the community service aspect and speak to that in your admissions application essay. There are several AA activities available including the African American Ministry and African Student Organization. I know there is also a AA co-ed fraternity too. (for more org info visit: http://www.depaul.edu/student_life/getting_involved/stu_organizations.asp). You can definitely do the SAT, but the ACT is what we use here in Illinois/Midwest. Good scores will only help you. I think you’ve got it, just believe in yourself. Take my word for it, do the early action program (I did and it’s great—you get first dibs on courses, orientation and more). Hope this helps!! :)
P/S: be sure to visit Chicago before coming here because as a tour guide for 3 years sometimes it’s not what students expect. This is a wonderful city though so if you’re the city type (and one a good size yet not overwhelming like NYC), give it a go. Good luck!
