toilet train my cat (read all 7 entries…)

okay, we removed the inner circle of the citikitty pan and what’s the first thing tycho did?
played with the toilet water!
first he tried to fit his head in there, but when he realized it wouldn’t fit, he chose to stick his paw down in there and bring the toilet water to him!
ew.
i know he has a facination with water…i mean, i can’t take a bath in peace, but he has a water dish in the living room AND one in the bathroom already.
that’s not a water bowl, it’s a potty!
ew!
okay, is this just something i should get over, or is there something i can do to curb this?
help, please.

Perhaps it might be help to offer Tycho a “Drinkwell brand” water fountain (or a less expensive clone) with its continuously running water?

That could reinforce to him which water is for drinking and which is Not. It could also just be another distraction, at a time when he’s already got a lot of change going on in his house….

We haven’t yet tried this type of fountain, although we’re considering getting one: the Bengals L-O-V-E water in all forms—including, as you say, the bathtub!
