Create a 43 things suggestion box (read all 5 entries…)
Because I have some suggestions already.

1) It would be nice to be able to add “I’ve done this” goals, even if nobody else has added them as “I want to do this” goals. Sure, it’s a bit obnoxious, but maybe it would help people identify goals that were (or weren’t) worth doing.

2) There needs to be some way to establish links between similar but differently-worded goals. Shouldn’t “write a good novel” and “write a good book” show up together somehow?

3) It might be nice to be able to privately e-mail or comment on someone else’s goals or entries. Right now the only way to communicate is via public comments.

Living up to the honor

Wow. I’m your first customer service file? What an awesome responsibility.

I love the idea that suggesting a suggestion box creates a suggestion box. That perfectly encapsulates the brilliance of your site.

BTW my husband and I have been invited to scads of these friendster type sites and this is the first one I find compelling. You’re really onto something.

Re: the how to add a completed goal, I figured out a workaround: add a goal that you want to do, then say you’ve completed it. Doing this requires keeping one’s 43rd spot open, however. (And being a bit compulsive I really wanted a complete list of 43.)

Re: goals that mean the same thing - it seems like your tag system should be able to accomplish that - or would if you grouped goals with overlapping tags—but then I guess you have the problem of people using different tag keywords, too. I recently bloggeda discussion of keyword standardization challenges. It does seem like something the W3C could usefully think about.
