Adventures in coffeemaking . . .

Yesterday was my first try with my new grind and brew coffeemaker (pictured above in a pic taken from the internet). It took me 45 minutes to make the first pot, because I had to read directions, run water through to clean dust from the inside, and figure out how everything went together. I am sure Nick thought Juan Valdez had had to bring the beans all the way from Colombia.

It came out just okay. I put in six cups of water, set it on “strong” and ground enough beans for eight cups, since I like a hearty cup. Still not strong enough.

This morning, 6 cups of water but ground beans for 12. I forgot to put the little filter liner in the first pot and it ran all over the place. Sigh. So waiting for the second pot to brew. But I think I’ll come in under 30 minutes today!

LOL

I once forgot to put the pot under the coffeemaker’s spout and went for a walk dreaming of the nice cup of coffee I would have once I got back. Needless to say, when I got back I had to clean up half of the kitchen as it was splattered with coffee that had nowhere specific to land!

Enjoy the new coffeemaker. Every best wish for an excellent year for you and your hubby. May it be filled with lots of good health (and great strides in recovery) but just as importantly, may it be chockablock full of laughter, happiness, adventures and love.

How awful to expect hot coffee

when you get back from your walk and find it all over the floor instead! But at least you know you are not alone in the coffee disaster department!

Thanks for the good wishes for the new year, Africanstar. I wish you a wonderful, happy, and productive new year as well!
