Celebrate my 5th anniversary on 43Things
Today I don't feel like celebrating...

My name is Tartsy. I have poured five years of my life into this site. At first, I thrived on anonymity (and still won’t mix my 43T & FB feeds) but over the years I’ve developed some wonderful and true friends. We’ve supported each other through tragedies & triumphs.

Recently I’ve discovered that a dear friend has been getting bullied here and I’ve also witnessed other odd scenarios play out on 43T… I am not a fan of what this site has become over the years. It’s become more of a social gathering site (i.e. popularity contest/ego feeding machine) opposed to a site for working on personal goals.

I’m saddened.

As time marches on I’ve walked away & based on recent developments, I’m glad. I still stop by once in awhile but it isn’t the same. To those I’ve known for years, thank you for helping me over some crazy stuff. Your cheers and comments have helped immeasurably and I can’t express enough gratitude! Thank you for befriending an asshat in her weakest moments and oddest situations. Your advice has helped hugely and with the communities support I’ve completed major goals both personal and fun.

I’ll probably fade away for a bit but I’ll be around…

Be good to one another!!

. . . . it “was what it was”, at least there was more good that came out of this site (like you, I’ve made some really cool friends here, and I’m truly grateful for that) then bad. I will always be grateful for the “Fun Times” and the incredible friends that developed from here. But because of those “Few” people on here that have ruined it for many, I also only check in from time to time. I’m glad that there are “other” sites that many of us have found to continue the great relationships that were built. Happy “5th”, and keep smiling :-)
