mrcreed memento mori
his name was samuel. he married rosanna. rosanna is the line that i traced back to scotland..the macqueens =)
went as far as finlay macqueen, who i googled and found some really cool stuff!
one of these days i need to actually pay for the big time la-tee-da membership so i can really do some research into this stuff.
to find out more about the ones who came from Ireland, too. Maybe I could find more about the Scots and the ones from Sheffield if I did that. Sadly, my paternal grandfather’s side of the family wasn’t very tight, so there’s a lot of family history there that might be lost for me. That includes the Scots/ScotIrish and the other side of the Irish. I have only been able to trace back on my grandmother’s side.
It’s interesting to talk about this stuff with TripleB. He and his dad traced their family history, but because he is black with a family history that goes back to American slavery, the trail goes cold for him in the late 1800s. :-/ I asked him if he would ever be interested in DNA testing to at least learn whereabouts his family originally came from (like on that show Who Do You Think You Are?), but he isn’t.

Yay Yorkshire! I knew there was a reason you were awesome. You are a Yorkshirewoman at heart.
that Sheffield was in Yorkshire! (For some reason I thought it was further west…) Well, no wonder ZH liked it there so much…he’s got Yorkshire on his dad’s side and mine! :-D

Although to play cricket for Yorkshire you have to be born there, so you’re out of luck there, ZH.
