What if...

What if my best friend told me that he is in love with someone else?

He told me that he is flattered and curious but also afraid of losing his wife and family.
He trusted me enough with this and valued my opinion, but I don’t know what to think of this.
As the friend, I can understand his curiosity.
As the wife, I am sad and afraid….

I have been a member on 43T for a while but have never seen such a supportive thread. It reads as if all of these people know you and are close friends. I’m not sure how helpful that is really but I can tell that you were getting a lot out of all the comments. I am married and regularly struggle with worries about the future of our marriage-we have been together for 11 years and 6 years ago I met someone else and we split up-so I kind of understand from the other pov. We are stronger than ever now so please believe that you can get through anything as long as you care for each other and make time for fun. Hope everything’s ok. xx

This is helping me a lot, you’re right. I know that every situation is different and everybody is reacting differently but to know that it is possible to get through something like this is already a great comfort.
