grandmonster I'm going to be a great-grandmonster by May's end

Daily: Reflect on at least 5 things for which I'm grateful (Happiness Manifesto #2) (read all 367 entries…)
Monday's five

I’m grateful:

-I exercised twice, though I got teased by my co-dancers about my OCD
-I planted begonias in coco mat planters for my hidden garden
-for the excitement I feel in getting a lot done on my new project
-for time spent with the other dancers celebrating one of the birthdays
-that my home is clean and sparkling once again because of my terrific housekeeper

I've spent

several hours this afternoon working on my planting. I am buying small matches of annuals or in the case of my Shasta daisies, perennials, instead of buying too much to put into the ground in a couple of days. I’ve been planting 2 to 6 pots or planters every day this week. I have some Coleus and begonias left to put in the birdbath.

I love, love, love lavender. The flowers are okay and the greenery has the best aroma there is, besides hyacinth. Sometimes I just cut the stalks and bring them inside my office to smell summer all year long.

I’m slowly making a cutting garden and the next thing I want to plant is some heat tolerant baby’s breath.

Saraband is trying :)

A cutting garden

That’s on my list too. One day :)

You’re very sensible to buy as you plant. I’ve been whittle down my “nursery” which was sizable thanks to the generosity of a new friend here in the village. But I can’t always find the right spaces for things and also am still buying specific things for certain places in the border I’m working on so as soon as I plant a few things out, a few more take their place in the queue. Plus there are are the seedlings – getting bigger and waiting for a break in the weather so they too can fill up some space in the border.

I have about 36 lavender plug plants on order to grow on. They will really make an impact when they are large enough for planting out :)

Thanks.

I have purchased too many plants in the past and I decided it was easier to plant as I go.

I can imagine 36 plugs of lavender. What ambrosia!
