Spring Hoop 30/30 (May 9-June 9) (read all 15 entries…)
Day 12 and Day 13

I didn’t hoop last night – long weekend and lots of work at the end of it, so by the time I was done with work at work and work I brought home, it was past 11:30 and I really had to go to bed. I did get some social time in this weekend, though.

Tonight I hooped for 30 minutes, with a BeeGees medley in remembrance of Robin Gibb (and Maurice). Plus I threw in one song by Yvonne Elliman to round out the 30 minutes:

Stayin’ Alive
Jive Talkin’
More Than a Woman
Tragedy
Grease
Saturday Night Fever
How Deep is Your Love
Night Fever
You Should Be Dancin’
(All by the BeeGees)
If I Can’t Have You – Yvonne Elliman

I’m not ashamed to admit I like the Bee Gees. So roll that up and smoke it.

Practiced the same things, though I tried lassoing while I was turning, and that went well. I also tried this thing I saw a hooper doing to get the hoop from waist to chest where she made like she was going to lasso, but just pulled it up to chest level. That didn’t go so well, but I can see how if I practice it might. I tried stepping up a step and down while hooping and knee lifts while hooping, that was fine (for the left knee I had to move it like a leg orbital in martial arts or I would lose the momentum of the hoop). I also tried doing this thing I’ve seen hoopers do where they bend over and spin the hoop vertically around their waist by bouncing up and down on their toes a bit. That was OK, not great.

Hmmm. Thatsaboutit!
