I want to read a good middle grade or young adult fantasy series that I have not read before. Suggestions?

Song of the Lioness

The first book came out when I was in school (that ages me!) and I remember getting it from one of those publisher/book push things. And LOVED it! Alanna was my heroine for years. Never, ever found the second volume thought – and don’t know whether to back track now and risk being disappointed!
