calypte ready for something new :)

figure out how to figure out what I want to do! (read all 7 entries…)
spitballing

(Is that the phrase I want?)

So, pushing forward with some vague ideas:

I’m almost-there in signing up for a short training course that builds on part what I’ve been doing, and seems like a very useful skill/certificate to have!

I also got a recommendation! Someone asked had I thought about training (as in, being the one that delivers it) and when I approached a former trainer of mine for advice he suggested that sounded like a good fit for me. Huh! It’s not a totally new idea for me, but perhaps a bit wary/unsure how I might look at this more.

And with that in mind, have ordered a few books: Building a Portfolio Career (this sounds unbelievably appealing, in a broad strokes kind of a way!), You Can Have What You Want (a walloping £1.79 for the kindle right now!), Find Your Dream Job, and Finding Square Holes. Surely between those I might figure something out?!

The main thing, though, is that I’m feeling a bit more positive right now: this is an opportunity – it’s actually kind of fab that I have so many possible options!!

PS still worth thinking about database programmer and/or data warehousing; data management.

Comments:

thanks

for the pointer to “portfolio career”.

isn't it delicious?

I also recommend Barbara Sher’s website, ‘Refuse to Choose’, to anyone who finds that idea enticing!
