get a dog (read all 5 entries…)
I've now...

got my parents permission and approval, not that their opinion matter any more, as I am now an adult, but I’m still going to live with my parents for a while; their house, their rules. So anyway, we went to this kennel, looking at some pups, but then I realized it wasn’t the right time, as we are just about to move into the city etc, besides I have to buy it myself, 10’000 kr = 1400 $. So I have decided to get a mongrel dog (spelling?). I still need to think this through. I have been thinking about getting one from a dog shelter, I’m going to visit one soon and just see what happens…

Look to a rescue organization

Are there rescue organizations where you live? They rescue pure bred dogs whose owners can no longer care for them or that show up in shelters (to prevent them from being killed if not adopted). Many cities in the US have them. They usually charge a fee, but much less than purchasing from a kennel. All that being said, we got a perfectly wonderful dog from our local shelter.

Good luck!

Thanks!

There should be one in my city, I’m just having a bit of trouble finding it ;) First problem came when I tried to translate dog shelter into swedish… I should know the swedish word but I didn’t hehe.
