Find the perfect mint lemonade recipe (read all 4 entries…)
We had this

when we were just down in London in a fabulous falafel shop – should have asked them for their recipe

Try this one

I wonder if it is close. It is called “Turkish Mint Lemonade” (I’m thinking falafel/Turkish somehow close?)

Ingredients

2 bunches of fresh mint leaves
1 cup of granulated sugar
5 medium lemons, juiced without seeds
2 1/2 cups of cold water (plus one more if too sweet per your taste)
Ice

How to make it

Remove the stems from the mint leaves.
Wash the leaves and press them down into a 1/2 cup measure.
You should have enough leaves to fill the cup.
Place the mint leaves, sugar, and lemon juice in a blender and blend. Strain the mint mixture through a fine sieve and place in a large pitcher.
Add 2-1/2 cups of cold water, and ice if desired.
Stir well.
Chill and serve in cold or chilled glasses garnished with additional mint leaves or a slice of lemon.
If this is too sweet for your taste, add an extra cup of water.
*If you want to add some alcohol, add 1 shot glass of Limoncello or vodka. Okkk, add more vodka or even rum!

This is

one of my favorite summer drinks!! The lemon and the mint combination are so incredibly refreshing. Sometimes I use honey instead of sugar.
