15 pounds

I have lost five pounds, I have fifteen more to go. Wish me luck and some perseverance would not hurt either :)

keep it up...it's worth it..

Lots of ways to do it. Hope you won’t mind me sharing, as I had tried a few times to lose weight, and considering I wasnt exactly a big guy to begin with, it never really worked well.

Am 5’ 8” and went from 160 to 148 in 7 weeks. That’s an 8.5% loss of weight. Stopped drinking beer, ran for 30-40 min 3 times a week, had more sex, ate better. The eating was the magic one I think. I almost cut sugar out…to regulate insulin levels, which controls all hormones. This meant avoiding breads/wheat which convert to sugar quick, ate lots of blueberries, almonds (high fibre, protein and saturated fat), and a good amount of unprocessed foods…including fatty meats (also unprocessed…not cold cuts)
The trick is to actually eat fatty natural foods and NOT cut them out. Our bodies will go into a fat storing mode when we drop the fat intake. Not what we want right? We go into a fat burning mode when we eat fats along with good insulin levels created by reduced sugars. Don’t need to go overboard with exercising and starvation diets.
This works for men and women. With insulin levels under control, then hormones can rebalance somewhat, making moods better, improved libido, better sleep, less snoring.

My goal was to hit 150 lbs. in 2 months.
Now I’m going for 145 in 3 weeks. Already lost 3..done this my modifying as follows:

Not as sure about women, but for men, by adding zinc & vitamin D supplements (or sun exposure), as well as a 3-4 times a week intense/interval 20 min workout (replacing normal workouts), we can increase testerone levels considerably to offset the natural decrease that occurs with age. Also offsets the increase in estrogen in men as we age. Yes men, we have estrogen.
This is basically a continuation of resetting things to a natural hormone level.

No drugs, no therapy, just better lifystyle.
Hormone balance is absolute key to weight control and many other things.

Good luck JeanValjean on this worthy goal!

Thank you very much for your advice and for the support. I appreciate it a lot. :) Keep up the good work as well.
