Move the furniture to the edges of the living room if you can. Put the coffee table in another room. Put a movie of a fire place or an open meadow on the tv (you might be able to get at the library or online) or put “nature sounds” on the stereo. Prepare your picnic foods and basket. Lay a checkered table cloth on the floor. This is especially effective when it is totally storming outside. You could even do candle light. I’ve done this many times, and it IS very romantic.
