Accept that I am an artist
Well, I do accept that I often suffer from sleep deprivation... 2 years ago

...and have potential lost my sanity. But me, an Artist? Nah, can’t be. Just because I spend every day making art, and some days selling art, doesn’t make me an Artist. I would love to hear some feedback on what defines an individual as an Artist.

For those curious, Dictionary.com defines Artist as:
1. One, such as a painter, sculptor, or writer, who is able by virtue of imagination and talent or skill to create works of aesthetic value, especially in the fine arts.
2. A person whose work shows exceptional creative ability or skill

And if you are so entertained, “exceptional creative ability”, what is GOOD art and what is just crap? Is it wrong or disrespectful to consider what someone considers art to be just crap?

When does something go from Interesting Idea or Craft Item to Art? Share, if you are willing, a story of some “art” you have seen that you would not have considered as Art.

Wow

I spent some time looking at your things and your blog on your website. You are truly unique or original as you might prefer. Everything is Art. I think the greatest work from any of us is the lives we live. It is impossible to escape the influence other people have on us. You and I are so different but still connected by our humanity. I like what you do, I admire it, I wish I could be more like you but I know I couldn’t ever. I am destined to work in an office, but that ain’t so bad either. You seem sort of inspired and depressed in the same breath. I feel like that alot. Anyways keep on doing what you do, I think you are an original.
