become who I am. (read all 2 entries…)
Looking 3 years ago

How to approach this one? I had a while ago, in not aiming for this goal specifically, started to think about who I was. And who I was especially as a child. I believe that we were naturally ourselves when we were children. Our temperment, our actions, our communication was at its truest. I want to get back to that. Or at least, if that’s not possible, which it most likely isn’t, remember and know who I was to help me know who I am today, and finally who I can become.

Not sure if that makes sense.

Comments:

I totally get it

Yes, we know where we are going as children, and then, people come in and try to save us from ourselves sometimes. They know not what they do. If you go back to your innocence and just be who you were then, you can be who you are now.

I think I am finally me again. Whew!

...does THAT make sense?

It does...

...and I really envie you to have found yourself again. I’m still exploring, but I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to go back to “they way we were”, too much “water under the bridge”.

Ok, I’ll stop with the stupid quotes.

the way we were

...it’s not so much the way we were, it is deeper…it is who we are. The core. You just have to try to remember what made you the happiest and why and then, just go back there again.

The quotes aren’t stupid. Please don’t be so hard on your heart.

it so does.

:)

Well, I'm still...

...a bit confused.

Could you help explain?
;)

I don't think...

You are just who you are as a child, but I think we loose a lot of ourselves a long the way of growing up, and we miss those traits or pieces of our character that were discouraged.

Kids have a natural disposition to laugh, to be silly and happy, they are not afraid (until someone makes them afraid), they are innocent.

Kids have their own way to see the world that is sometimes encouraged or crippled by the grownups who guide them.

All experiences are enriching, but we have to let go of fears, if you wake up every morning to something new and exciting like a kid does because they begin to live, life is exciting.

I think at the end you are who you want to be, at one point in our lives it doesn’t matter who you were as a child, you choose to be the best of you along the way, hopefully you keep trust, and hope, you keep being silly and enjoying life, but also hopefully you learned from past mistakes and let go of baggage and fear, then is like being the kid you were only wiser.
