After growing up in the same dead-end city, I packed up and moved 3000 miles across the country. I am not spontaneous or impulsive and it was just one of those things I knew I HAD to do. So I did. And I was right in assuming that life would be bigger and better somewhere else.
Comments:
i've done this. six times.
Always worth doing. Some people say moving too much is running away, I saw it’s part of the American pursuit of happiness. Where you have the freedome to chose the grass that is greener on the other side. Sometimes people need a change of scenery. Sometimes we need to be around people who are more like us. Some of us-like me-need the pulsating energy of a city. No disrespect to the rural areas. I’ve lived there too. They seem better to me than mid-level towns that are filled with sprawl. Enjoy your move. Walk the streets and browse. Buy a hot dog on the street. Enjoy a city park in the spring. Attend free outdoor music shows in the summer. Smell autumn and soak in the colors and decorations of Halloween. Sit on the radiator to keep warm in winter.
