Oh and don’t think you have to move to the Silicon Valley to work there. Engineering offices are in New York, Kirkland (Seattle), Santa Monica, Zurich (Switzerland!), and likely more to come (e.g. you may have seen something about Google China in the news lately).

As for relocating people from overseas, it has been done. I think the most common way people from overseas end up at Google is they come to the U.S. for School, and then apply while here.
