Bookcrossing

Wifey uses it a lot and it’s more ‘give and take’ than strict swapping. They drop books off anywhere, find them all over the place, have meetups to swap and also post books between themselves.
I’m registered, too, but I’m rubbish at remembering to journal books :)
Sarah is relaxing
If you are a bookcrosser, you can use http://www.RABCK.com which is good for giving books to people who want to read them You don’t get anything back though apart from good karma.
There is also http://bookrelay.com is a great bookswapping site. Great fun. I’d recommend this one to use in conjunction with bookcrossing.
There are also bookcrossing meeting that you can attend where people give their books away. You can pick up a few interesting titles at meetings.
OBCZs (Official bookcrossing zones) are cool too. Basically anyone with a business can have a OBCZ which is just a shelf where people leave there books to be given away after registering them on bookcrossing.com Anyone can go to an OBCZ to pick up any books they fancy. There is a map of all the OBCZs in the workd at http://homepage.mac.com/pachydomo/OBCZWorldMap.htm
There is also titletrader but I haven’t used that one before.
