Geez

I have never really seen a guy who’s that interested to watch Miss Universe or Miss World contest..I often have to drag my male partners to watch with me but they always fall asleep in the first 10 mins of show lol

BTW, I have been watching the beauty contests for at least 15 years, and never missed a year, but somehow Miss U.S.A. will DEFINITELY get into top 10, regardless whether she is pretty or not…For e,g this year Miss U.S.A. is supershort, only 5” 5, yet she came in top 5…And without a doubt, Miss U.S.A is GUARANTEE to get into top 10 every year..I don’t remember if there’s a year that “she” doesn’t get in ;)

I heard ppl were saying that it’s because of political reason that the judges have to “give face” to U.S.A….Also, esp if you are the HOST country, that particular Miss whichever country will definitely come in top 10 too ;)

OK, so much for the insider story, haha, and yes, I have judged beauty contest before so I do know how “the internal” organization works lol ..Therefore I can also tell you that beauty contest is never fair!!

Your right...

In Style:

I seem to be evolving into this person that has been waiting to let his feelings and emotions be set free. I can’t explin it. I never liked watching beauty contests before, in fact I probably would of never watched this one had it not be for Miss USA’s evening gown made by a contestant from Project Runway. I always thought watching them was too girly, which I really don’t understand because all the women are gorgeous. YOur male friends must feel the same way as watching a chic flick movie. Also, if Trauma_junkie didn’t let me know that it was on I would have missed it.

But, now I feel I understand how they exploit women, women on stage walking around in a bikini parading to a panel of judges. Yes, I did watch the entire two hours routing from Miss USA to go further and further in the competition hoping she would win it all. This fashion thing is new to me..

Maybe, it’s all the reading I am doing and learning more and more about feminism and how women need to fight for equality. I agree, it is strange for a man to share these same virtues and emotions like women and I just love it. I feel free to express my hidden desires. Next week, I start floral design school for three weeks, and work for the Susan Komen 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer, helping women suceed in the fight for curing breast cancer. I can’t wait.

Thank you so much for your comments and if you have any insight on what is going on with these bursts of emotions, please share your thoughts. My wife is pleased but doesn’t explain what she thinks. Peace.

Oh ok :)

I see, so that explains why that Santino(not sure e actual spelling is) from the project runway was one of the judges that night..I was like, why in e world did they pick him as a judge, as he doesn’t seem to have any aesthetic sense to me.. ;P ..I mean judging from how he is like from the “Project runway” show(that’s one of my fav show too, besides “The Apprentice”)..I don’t think he understands women & beauty well lol

Oh so did he make the dress for her, Miss U.S.A. for that special night ?

Wow, you certainly seem to be very supportive and concerned of women affairs and activities ;) Good for you!

P.S. I still think that Miss Switzerland & Miss Japan are the most beautiful of them all..They’re both smart, very pretty face and beautiful body..perfect 10! =)

And that winner, Miss Puerto Rico is too damn skinny, not pretty, and not really smart, so I dont think she deserved to win :( ..Only the last year winner, Miss Canada, and the year before last year, Miss Australia, are both very well deserved to win =)

I agee, Miss Japan was the most worldy of the final five...

Dear In style:

Yes, Miss Puerto Rico was very skinny to me and almost anorexic when the commentors mentions this especially. Plus, what kind of image does she represent to the young aspiring women and little girls that being really skinny in a bikini will win you the Miss Universe pageant. Miss Switzerland had a better figure than Miss Puerto Rico and that Miss Canada of 2005 was the perfect choice last year, she was the complete package of intelligence, style and beauty.

Santino Rice didn’t design the evening gown. The dress Miss USA, Tara Conner, was wearing was designed by the Proj Runway team of Kayne & Robert in a evening gown competition on last week’s show. Kayne impressed Tara with his former pageant outfits and Robert works as a Barbie doll designer for Mattel.

Santino was chosen for his bad boy image from last season. He ended up losing in the final live episode of Proj Runway to Ms. Chloe Dao, surprisly the same designer he insulted in previous shows. He was probably one of the most visual of all the designers. He was funny, outrageous, rude and another in the Howard Stern mode. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t have his own talk show like (oh no)Jerry Springer.

Yes, I am very supportive of women’s rights and their concerns and seem to be joining more of their causes. I even joined the NOW organization and even picked up a copy of BITC_ magazine. Thank you for those wonderful comments and I guess I will keep this going for now.
