The two tricks that finally pushed me to giving up soda was switching from drinking a soda with my meal to having a soda as a dessert, and not drinking any caffeine after 4 pm. From there, it was just a matter of accepting whatever mint or candy was at hand as dessert, and I was done with soda. Water’s just fine while eating in my opinion, but if you really want something sweet with your meal, try iced tea or lemonade.
Stopping drinking soda is easy. It’s the caffeine in the morning that’s the hard part. ;-)
