this isn’t really a connoisseur place, I work in a cafe here myself so I doubt they will have things like foi Gras, Truffles etc except at the 2 five star hotels and possibly the casino, but Sydney and Melbourne as well as Adelaide are on the horizon and they should have fine dining there.

If you’re going to find anything ‘connoisseur’ in Darwin… your best bet is to try Parap Fine Foods. I’m not sure how likely you are to find truffles though.

but I might be the only person there eating them. They do have a few upmarket places here, skycity did a Gala which was very well attended, had some excellent foods and cost about 100 dollars upwards a person – I was there as a waiter. Then there is a holiday inn which is apparently 5 star, but I think somewhere like Melbourne is more the place to have truffles possibly at the top of the tower there looking out over the city.
do you want to eat a mushroom truffle or a chocolate truffle?
I have eaten too many truffle chocolates, but I really want to try a dish with mushroom truffles.

a mushroom truffle, I’m not a chocoalte fan and they are quite easy to get, yes they are expensivve which is why I haven’t done it yet so I’m not sure how great they are, my Dad has tried truffle oil and said it was delicious, my life doesn’t have anything that important in it so wasting money is always an option which can work out and if it doesn’t is not so terrible.
I never have and I heard that if you get the right ones they are divine!

I was watching PBS with DIY girl all about Truffles. They showed how dogs are instead of pigs now and then had all these simple egg recipes that let the truffles stand out.
Later that night we went to this fancy new restaurant and my 11 year was telling my husband all about truffles. I knew we could take out kids to nice places without fear after this conversation.(it was very spur of the moment) Of course she had (fancy) mac and cheese. ADD boy tried the tuna tartar.
