When I was in jr. high, I (of my own free will) memorized Lenore, Annabelle Lee, and the Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. I still have pieces of the poems just floating in my head, and its much sweeter than the lyrics of some cheesy song. (I also memorized Hamlet’s “to be or not to be” and Macbeth’s “tommorow and tommorrow and tommorrow”, at least, I think that’s from Macbeth… : )
