22. Flat or flat-out

I don’t know if this one is Southern or if it spans the U.S., but it means “absolutely, without a doubt.”

One of my students once wrote on an evaluation of me, “The woman can flat-out teach.” I once saw a police officer quoted in the newspaper as saying, “That car was flat flowing.”
