This is not just running over to Barnes and Noble for a coffee before Triston gets home from school; this is a multiple hour affair that most likely involves some money (though not implicitly), an interesting place or activity, and some good food. Something to break us out of our typical “practically minded” form of conversation. We went on dates more frequently back in the first six months when we lived in Seattle. Those two factors had something to do with it. Now we have the horrible impediment of her grad school lurking in our path. I think these dates have to be planned a month early or they’ll never happen. Sad sad.
