This goal is far too vague. I once read that one of the best way of NOT accomplishing a goal is making it vague. The main problem with this goal is that there’s no timeframe involved. A better idea would be to adopt this goal: “Stop drinking soda for a week”, and then increase it to a month, six months, a year, etc, progressively building upon past successes.

i don't understand this.
I have seen quite a few people on 43T who have this goal, but i don’t see how that would help improve anyone’s life. Perhaps if we all stopped drinking SUGARY pops, -that would undoubtedly be better for everyone, but there is nothing wrong with soda otherwise, I like bubbles in my water, and there are even a few springs in the world where water emerges from the ground naturally carbonated too!
maybe someone can shed light on this?
Sugary goodness
I’m hardpressed to come up with sugarless soda, unless you mean the diet variety which uses sugar substitutes. What did you have in mind?
well...
there are lots of drinks that are naturally fizzy, but dont contain all that sugar or their laboratory created cousins. There are water springs all over europe that produce carbonated water with no sugar, that actually has a greater nutritional value than most drinking water. some is lightly flavoured, some isn’t. the most common to find in north america is Perrier, but there are others.
just seems like carbonated drinks are nothing to hold back on, unless its all the sugar one is trying to avoid??
meh...
i added this goal because my dentist said i really should stop drinking soda – none of my co-workers believe i can. one actually bets i will drink something before the new year. it’s is vague – but i stopped drinking all soda – no diet, really any surgary drink … ‘cept for the occasional coffee
