lose weight (read all 3 entries…)
What the #&#? 2 years ago

I’ve been married for 10 years, have followed my husband around for over 10 (since we’ve known each other longer). And now I’m too fat to be attractive enough to have sex. It’s true. I’m obese (209lBS on a 5’4 frame), but add to that my thyroid problems (gee, I know everyone uses that as an excuse, but I’ve got a Dr.’s excuse) and I can’t lose the goddamn weight.

So, I’ve decided to eat a slimfast shake everyday for breakfast and lunch, work out at least 60 minutes per day (every other day is at least 30 minutes of weight lifting) and see what happens. I’m in major calorie deficit. I hope it works.

My sex life depends on it. Anyone else done a plan similar to this? If so, I’d like to know your results.

Thanks!

Girl...I can relate. ie, photo...used to be me

I am 33 years old and I have 3 children. This is my second marriage. (the first didn’t count on the count of him being a real jerkhead) but anyway…My husband loves me just the way I am (so he says) but I am very uncomfortable. I have gained about 15lbs since we’ve been married and its only been a year and a half. I get tired when we make love and I try not to let him know it but it has affected that portion of our lives immensely because, we’ve went from 5 days a week to (maybe) 2 or 3. Not to mention with him doing most of the work. I have decided (weekly) that I want to lose weight and for some reason its just not working. I am so depressed but I don’t let it consume me and he doesn’t even know that I’m depressed because I joke about it. This 5’4 body can’t handle all of this 176lb weight. What should I do and is losing 30lbs in 2 to 3 months a reachable goal if I put my mind to it…really put my mind to it? Please helllllllpppppp!

You rock

You look awesome in your picture. I do think it’s possible to lose 30lbs in 3 months, but you’d have to be willing to eat very little and work out a lot. With 3 kids I don’t know if you’d have the spare time for that (I don’t have kids but can imagine that you’d be running around after them).

I’ll keep posting on my progress with my routine and if it works, you’re welcome to try.

Best of luck to you…I can’t remember the last time my DH and I had sex. I think I repulse him too much.

Are you taking medication for your thyroid problem? I have only a minor thyroid problem, and the medication makes a world of difference. It doesn’t make the fat just melt away, of course, but it helps give me the energy to be more active, plan meals, etc.

It sounds like you are having some self-esteem issues as well. I think working on those will help you with the weight-loss. You can’t say “I’ll love myself when I’m thin” because you’re going to have a hell of a time losing weight if you hate yourself. Even with sex, it might be your husband, but it might also be that you repulse yourself too much…..

good luck!
