I remember back in 7th grade we had an assignment where we chose a book title out of a hat or something and had to write a story based on the title. I got “The Lady or the Tiger,” and wrote a story about a kitten and some woman. My teacher wrote a note at the end of the paper with the grade (which was a good one) and she wrote that she cried when she finished reading it. For some reason it made me feel more accomplished, that me, a 13 year old kid could write something to make my teacher cry. I wonder if I’ve got it lying around with all my old papers and such somewhere…
