a man named Lew you should be diggin' it while it's happenin'
Wow, I’ve just got a permanent post. Same field I was working in before but better money.
Hey, I’ve just completed a goal:)
10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.
Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.
It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.
As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Thanks Gertie. I really was on the point of giving up and didn’t want to go to the interview. Just shows you. Can’t believe I’ve knocked off this really big goal:)
Hope things are looking up for you as well.
I am so happy for you. So what is it? Do you work alone? When do you start? Do you think you will get along with your boss? Hows your chair and your desk? Do they have free coffee in the break room? Good pens and staplers? What are the perks man?
I don’t know the answers to these as yet, apart from it’s a Test analyst job, and it may involve working in Newcastle which I’d be quite happy about. I start next Wednesday.
Not seen you around for a wee while. How’re you keeping?
I’ll wait on the answer to the stapler question—but what IS a test analyst?
I want to know-what industry? Sounds sciency- what discipline? Automotive-rockets- geotech-chemical??
I am ok—laying low. Travelling a lot for my work. Trying to cultivate a life as I look forward to my twinnie girlie pies leaving the nest next year. Hence the drawing. Its been fun and I am learning new things. So all is good.
Software. Financial this time I think.
You’re lucky to get to travel for work I think.
And yes it’s good to learn new things. I like the self-portrait:)
Mere is puzzled as to why she can't...
Congratulations & best wishes.
Newcastle is not bad a place. I lived there for a very short time and I thought it was plesant.
Yes I’ve lived there before as well. This time it will be a matter of living in Edinburgh, and working in Newcastle Monday to Friday.
Congratulations are due to yourself also I see. Well done, much more exciting than my news:)
