I think I need some lessons. This teach yourself stuff just isn’t working for me.

Don't fret
Lessons are a good idea, not just for the self-taught-challenged but for all beginners. There are a number of small, important habits that don’t come naturally - using all your fingers, alternate picking, learning the fretboard - that lessons can help you acquire. Finding the right teacher isn’t always easy, but I second your motion to try.
If you want to keep learning while you’re looking, I recommend the book Fretboard Logic, by Bill Edwards. It’s technical and requires discipline, but rewards study.
Good luck!
Good Advice from gsamsa.............
If you can afford about $25 a week, taking lessons is well worth it. You may be able to learn the basics in a few months, and then go on your own. If the money is an issue, try to find a friend who plays, and schedule a half-hour lesson once a-week. Then spend the next week practicing what you’ve learned. It is well worth it, and who knows where it might take you? If nothing else, it is a great, relaxing hobby.
