My wife and I had a wonderful month staying in Bangkok. This was nine months after we visited there to marry. Most people will go to the typical tourist locations: Wat Po, Emperor’s Palace. There are some places that are must-sees that aren’t strictly tourists locales. The first, while it has to be timed correctly, is The Weekend Market. It is easily accessible from the Skytrain’s Mochit station, open from 8AM-6PM. Another would be the small markets along Sukhumvit Street. They are most expensive than at the weekend market, but you still get very good deals. Remember that you must haggle for everything there (except hotels and meals), this includes cab fare! Agree to the price before you get in the taxi.
