This has been a goal of mine since my Dad bought me a banjo for my college graduation present, 9 years ago. My brother, who plays guitar, never ceases to remind me that I still don’t know how to play banjo. I love the sound and I really wanna learn, but I don’t want to get those nasty, yellowed banjo fingernails. The instrument is currently packed away in storage. Can it be done?
I’ve wanted to learn to play for the last 33 years. I finally found a 5 string at a brocante 2 years ago. It’s in great condition but try finding a banjo teacher when you are 60 kms south of Paris. Oh well I’ll try and get a CD or DVD soon as I’ve decided that banjo teachers are extinct in France.
And why on earth should you get yellow nails….you’re picking strings not your nose.
